- mediastinal lymph node (station 2-9)

** upper zone (station 2-4)

** aortopulmonary zone (station 5-6)

** subcarina zone (station 7)

** paraesophageal zone (station 8)

** pulmonary ligament (station 9)

- hilar / interlobar zone (station 10-11)

station 1supraclavicular lymph node

station 2 upper paratracheal lymph node

station 3A prevascular lymph node

station 3P prevertebral lymph node

station 4 lower paratracheal lymph node

- adenocarcinoma of the right upper and middle lobes at the level of the aortopulmonary windowshows enhancing low right paratracheal nodes (ATS station 4R), subaortic nodes (ATS sttion 5), and low left (contralateral) paratracheal nodes (ATS station 4L)

station 5 subaortic lymph node

- adenocarcinoma of the left upper lobe at the level of the aortopulmonary window shows a 7-mm-diameter subaortic node which lies lateral to a calcified ligamentum arteriosum

- The subaortic nodes contained tumor tissue at anterior parasternal mediastinotomy

station 6 paraaortic lymph node

station 7 subcarinal lymph node

station 8 paraesophageal lymph node

station 9 pulmonary ligament lymph node

station 10 hilar lymph node

- adenocarcinoma of the left upper lobe shows 3-cm-diameter left hilar node (ATS station10)
